BIOGRAPHY
- We're only here to dream. So it is our duty to make the best of it. -
I was born in Athens in 1979 and I am a musician, producer, sound engineer and visual artist, among other things.
Early on in my life I realized that art and especially in the form of music was my intended path. I studied Music Technology in the University of Huddersfield in the UK where I got my BA(Hons) degree. I had also undertaken a graphic design course earlier but music and its production won me over.
I started playing music at about 14 or 15 years old (late bloomer), doing piano and guitar lessons. Not a big fan of studying, practise and proper ways of doing things, I pretty much progressed on guitar and writing music on my own and developed my own (and probably very flawed) ways of doing things.
I've been playing in bands since 1994 and have experimented with quite a few music genres. I love being on stage and I enjoy creating. It is my passion and one of the main reasons for my being. That is also the reason I have more than a few projects. I like to explore music in general and I can only quench that thirst by indulging in projects of various music genres, be it in the form of a band, a studio project or just a single song. Most of my current musical endeavors can be found on this site which works as a guide to who I am and what I do.
In 2005 I started my main business, Mothstudio Productions, a recording and (at the time and for a few years more) rehearsal studio. That remains my sanctuary to this day.
I have also worked as a live sound engineer for a few years and as a freelancer since then.
Over time I operated a record label (Trailblazer Records) and promoted and organized quite a few live shows under it. One of those was a small indoor venue festival called Defcon Fest which lasted for eight years and gave the opportunity to more than a few local bands to showcase their music.
Finally I also do some artwork (mainly digital and photo-manipulative) for album covers, t-shirts and posters under Darker Plains.
I guess by now you are a bit confused. I know I am sometimes. The most consistent and sure thing in my life is my love for music and art. That and my stupendous devotion in movies, series and video games. Oh, and pizza.
